Rarely! that all depends ,I guess,on how the break-up occured and if you both have totally resolved whatever it was that broke you up before.Trust me, if you are still angry about something from the past,it will come back to haunt you. Also, alot of times people fall back into the same bad patterns of behavior that may have broken you up the first time..So there is really no right or wrong answer here .It's totally an individual choice!

Sure it can. But just remember why he is an ex in the first place and decide from that major decision if you should enter into another relationship with this person.

I would say it greatly depends on what broke you up in the first place and further what is drawing you back together. My short answer is yes but remember why you broke up in the first place and if either of you has learned or changed since

he's an ex for a reason. unless it's been a while and you know that he's changed, then go for it. if there hasn't been any changes, keep him an ex. that doesn't mean that you can't be friends. if you do that, just remember you're just friends and move on with your life.

It could, as long as the bad parts of the past aren't brought up, that will just kill it, and as long as you both really want to make it work, and as long as you both have trust and respect for each other reguardless of what went on the last time

it can if you make it work between you two. show him you really care about dating him. show him that YOU can make it work. and if it doesn't work, @least you tried!
