Well you're not being entirely honest here are you. First off, you commit the same generalizing you accuse others of. Secondly, not everyone or most everyone for that matter is mocking Christianity, they are mocking those Christians who are anything but Christian. You need to understand that many, not all, people here who claim to be Christian do not in any way shape or form practise Christian humility, compassion, or Christ like living. Sad but true and to those hypocrites I say I will mock you for your Christian of convenience stance. Again many Christians here, do nothing but proclaim their faith as the only true faith, they proclaim anyone Else's faith is evil, they proclaim that God hates certain people. They do all this and then wonder why others may look upon them with ridicule or even contempt.
Bottom line, if you show people nothing but contempt, hatred and vilification, you certainly shouldn't expect anything else but the same in return. I know you probably did not want to hear this but it is true.
BTW, although no longer a member of organized Christianity, I have my faith, which is why my answer to you is honest but in no way mocking.

Just as all Christians are not alike, all atheists are not alike.
However, many people who have rejected organized religion have done so because we have SERIOUS problems with the doctrine and practices of Christian-based faith groups. The hypocrisy of many Christians, who seem to spend more time worrying about the sins of others rather than those of themselves, is the form of intolerance many of us are rejecting.
Just because an atheist, agnostic, or Wiccan disagrees with a Christian does not necessarily mean that they are condescending to them.
Some Christians seem never to have questioned what they believe, which I think demonstrates a certain philosophical immaturity. Ultimately, I think that each person should seriously subject their belief system to rational thought and scrutiny. When I run into somebody who hasn't done this, yet is confident that they are in the "right" I might not have as much respect for them.

Now don't play the "I'm a victim!" card with us.
Anytime someone questions or criticizes a Christian's beliefs some of you immediately misconstrue that as persecution. Now if we were sticking you in concentration camps, then you'd have a reason to whine.
I've seen just as many Christians attack the atheists, Wiccans, and agnostics as those of them who might attack Christians. What do you expect? When you corner someone - expect them to fight back!
That's the real problem is that Christian's aren't used to people fighting back. It's only been the last 50 years or so where people can openly criticize Christianity and other mainstream religions without fear of being ostracized or murdered - and you guys don't like it.

That's right! Let's have Christians be the only ones allowed to judge and bash!
Sorry buddy. On this site, the Christians can be rude, intolerant and horrible to someone just because of a differing belief and other Christians will back them up. I, for one, am not going to stand down and just let them run over everyone just because they have the majority in here. Why do you think so much negativity is aimed at them? Because most of us have been on the receiving end of a Christian rant or two. If they'd stop, I bet they wouldn't get so much hell from others.
"who by the tenants of their faith, can't really insult you back?"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. THEY CAN'T?? Better tell them that!!

I don't insult someone for their faith, I insult them for twisting that faith to suit their needs and I take no pleasure in it. I've been told again and again that I'm going to hell for not believing in Jesus, if that's not insulting I don't know what is. I realise that athiests don't believe in hell and my faith doesn't mean I'm going at all but the fact that a christian whole heartedly believes that I deserve ETERNAL DAMNATION is insulting as could be. But no. Christians have never, ever, ever insulted anyone. They're all perfect and so is their religion. That's why EVERYONE believes in Jesus. *eyeroll*
I don't think all Christians are jerks, biggots, hypocrites, bible thumpers and all the other things I have called some Christians. Some of you aren't bad but I've met very few who could keep their faith to themselves and not tell me I'm going to hell for my beliefs.

There's your problem - you think we're here to insult you. We're not insulting you - we're insulting an idea that you personally hold to be true.
I don't insult people; that would be mean. But I do come here to poke holes in the story because I think it's the right thing to do. Tell me why I'm wrong for a change - why am I wrong? Where's the proof that would vindicate your side or at least that it has a higher probability than mine does?
If you're offended by my questioning your beliefs, perhaps you need to change your beliefs.

I agree,
Trust in the Lord your God, it says in the end times you will be mocked. Stand up for your beliefs, keep your faith and do not be one of those Christians who give Christianity a bad name.
Stay Christ-like, thank him for your salvation and show tolerance.
God Bless

I don't see that many insults taking place.
You may find a differing point of view unpleasant but that doesn't make it an insult
believe whatever makes you happy, just don't expect to test it with logic unless your prepared for the results.
What do you come to answers looking for? Proof of god?

no, it's fun to insult those who purport i will be punished for the way i live my life, an insult to me. i know many believers who do not follow the tenants of their faith and fully insult others. i'm not superior in my own beliefs, but telling me mine is wrong and yours is right makes me superior to you. it makes me superior knowing i have a greater understanding of the world because in my religion tolerance is everything. no religion is completely wrong.

"who by the tenants of their faith can't really insult you back..."
Um, do you read the forums? There's plenty of hate and mocking to go around from ALL sides, Christians included.
Besides, grow a spine dude. If you make fun of atheism, so what? I couldn't care less. Do you think I'm mad at south park for doing a TWO-PART mockery of atheism and evolution? HECK NO! I'm TORQUED off that it took them to the tenth season to do it, we're ripe for mockery in this predominantly christian environment of the USA!
If you can't laugh at yourself, you don't deserve to laugh at all.
