One claim he made was that he was sent by the Creator to show us what our Creator is like, and our Creator's desire for us. Jesus did not just talk, there was power in his life. Remember, his followers who saw him, and there were many, allowed themselves to be killed for there faith. Why? Because they saw the power of God in Jesus' life. One or two nuts might allow themselves to be killed, but not many hundreds. And christian martyrs were unique, they died because they saw Jesus, they heard the voice from heavan that said " This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased".

Wow, I was talking with some friends from church recently about this. I also had this feeling deep inside, "what if God didnt exist?" We talked for hours, debating on facts. Our conclusion: Yes, God exists. I'll try to give you some insight on what we went over.

Ok, let's not get too complicated and just give an everyday example. Suppose you got home today, and there was this beautiful chocolate cake with icing and everything, on top of ur table. Now, we have 2 theories of where that cake came from:

1) There was an HEB truck this afternoon going by ur house, and all of a sudden, a car hit it at 70mph, and the truck rolled over violently. There were eggs, flour, all sorts of stuff in the truck, and they all got mixed up in the crash, and the truck caught on fire, and the extreme heat baked all that stuff, and as the truck continued to roll on the street, the stuff flew through ur window and miraculously landed on ur table.

2) Someone who knew how to bake a chocolate cake, went there and did it, and then put it on top of ur table for you.

Which one makes more sense? If you answered #2, good! Then God created the Earth and everything in it. If you prefer to believe in an absurd and very creative theory called "the big bang", in which somehow gases mixed up, just in the right proportion, and then everything exploded and the earth was formed ... my friend, you have a very creative mind. First of all, how were those gases there? Someone must have created it. God. Stuff doesn't just appear.

=D Doesn't that make sense? Ok, now, let's get a lil more complicated.

Scientists say that man evolved from monkeys or whatever their creative mind came up with. Well, it has been proven that over time, living beings only lose genetic material, constantly. Therefore, evolution cannot be possible. The human body is so complex, there is no way it just "evolved" from something. A project called GENOMA, just recently finished their research. Their task: make a complete mapping of the human DNA. Many countries joined forces to complete this project, each taking a body part, like arm, leg, or whatever, and finding out the DNA code for it. Germany was in charge of the human eye. At the end of the project, they said that the human eye was so complex, that there was NO WAY it could have evolved from some other animal. It's a fact. Scientists researched and wrote it down. Aren't they contradicting themselves now? Ok, I believe I made a point on this one. Mankind did not evolve. God made man in His image.

Ok, now back to the big bang stuff. The NASA has been measuring the distance from the Earth to the moon, and it's a fact that every year the moon gets further and further away from the Earth. Fact. It's been proven. It's also a mathematical equation. So, if we take that mathematical equation, and do it backwards, we come up with how long since the earth and the moon we're almost touching. The calculations say something about 10 thousand years. It can't be more than that, otherwise the moon would have been rolling around on the earth.

Also, it's possible to calculate the rate of aging of the Earth. Every year, scientists calculate the rate at which the Earth is aging. It's roughly the same. If we then backtrack how long since the Earth was relatively "new", the calculations vary from 10 to 12 thousand years. It's fact.

Also, the population of the Earth. Today, we have roughly 6.5 billion people alive. Populations, increase in a mathematical progression. In other words, there will always be more people alive today, than there are people dead. Fact. It's not possible to have more people dead than alive. Draw a sketch of a simple family tree, and you'll stumble upon the same conclusion. So, if we backtrack how long since the beggining of population, the results say somewhere between 10 to 12 thousand years.

Every fact that we can backtrace, falls upon the same range. 10 to 12 thousand years. In other words, the Earth is relatively new, not millions of years old as some scientists say.

So, why would scientists not agree with this? Why would they come up with these ridiculous theories about some big bang or whatever? The answer is simple. At the very moment that they agree that there is an all-powerful being, a God, that created everything we know, they realize all their sins. At the moment they realize their sins, they know that they'll have to eventually have a commitment and a close relationship with God. They don't want any commitments to anyone. So what's the easy way out? Make up some random theories that we evolved from monkeys and that the Earth just happens to have been created randomly by a Big Bang, that they themselves can't explain how it supposedly happened.

I sincerely hope this has opened your eyes to the truth. Thanks for reading this, and I really hope that you now accept the commitment that God wants you to have with Him. If you're already commited with God, then I hope this text has restrengthened your faith.

God Bless all of you, and have a great day.

Lots of people now a days claim to be Jesus. They're just as crazy as Jesus is said to be. Mob mentallity and stupidity do not count as martyrdom. Counts as stupidity. There is absolutley no proof that Jesu existed, and if he did he was a man who was seriously ill in the head. I know I'll get thumbs down but it's true. Son of god? Seeing Satan?

Not to mention the part that if Jesus was the son of god and such then he would likely be absolutely stunned and appaulled by what his "followers" have done with his words, in his name and how they twisted the faith he was trying to teach.

I believe in Jesus, I just don't buy all the hype about him being sooo perfect. if he was sent here in human form, to live as human.. he had to have had some faults. to live till his 30"s and not have a wife or even a child or 2.. that just wasn't common, and you cant tell me that he didn't drink just a bit too much wine once in awhile. I think he was a man, who led an extraordinary life, was a scholar with great ideas and he did good things for people. But Perfect... Son of God... no, not buying that story anymore.

Christians identify Messiah with Jesus and define him as God incarnated as a man, and believe he died for the sins of humanity as a blood sacrifice. This means that one has to accept the idea that one person's death can atone for another person's sins. However, this is opposed to what the Bible says in Deuteronomy 24:26, "Every man shall be put to death for his own sin," which is also expressed in Exodus 32:30-35, and Ezekiel 18. The Christian idea of the messiah also assumes that God wants, and will accept, a human sacrifice. After all, it was either Jesus-the-god who died on the cross, or Jesus-the-human. Jews believe that God cannot die, and so all that Christians are left with in the death of Jesus on the cross, is a human sacrifice. However, in Deuteronomy 12:30-31, God calls human sacrifice an abomination, and something He hates: "for every abomination to the Eternal, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods." All human beings are sons or daughters, and any sacrifice to God of any human being would be something that God would hate. The Christian idea of the messiah consists of ideas that are UnBiblical.

People die for their religious beliefs all the time. Does this make Islam true too, because they have quite a few martyrs. (See: The Crusades and well hell, everything SINCE the crusades).

You're putting a LOT of stock in that book being absolutely true. Check it out. Find out how it came to be. What the Coucil of Nicea is about.

And to your first question - why I don't believe in Jesus is because "his word" was hopelessly contradictory about so many things, most importantly his resurrection.

"one or two nuts might allow themselves to be killed, but not many hundreds"

So ... by your reasoning, Allah must be the true god, since many more people are willing to die for him.

Judging godhood on how many suckers are willing to lay down their lives for an unproven idea isn't a great test.

I believe that Jesus probably lived. But I don't believe he was divine, or sent by the divine (which I also don't believe in). Why? Lack of proof.

I could just as easily ask why you DO believe that Jesus was divine (not whether he existed, we're pretty sure he did, but was just another man). The "Proof" for your argument is the very catechism you were taught, which is no proof at all. It is merely YOUR belief.

Why does it bother you so much that others (MILLIONS Of others!) do not see Jesus as divine or even a blip on their religious radar? You're being presumptuous!

Amen! Jesus is the only way, truth and life, and no one comes to the Father but through Him! -John 14:6

Many do not want to believe in Jesus because they do not want to have to repent of sin. They think it is foolishness. They do not realize how much Joy comes from the Lord- not just in knowing you are saved from Hell but that Jesus fills you with new desires and opens your eyes to His truth. They are afraid to submit to God- because they are selfish and they want to run their own lives. But if we keep sharing the gospel, God will soften hearts to His wonderful truth! We dont know who will be saved- But we do know that the Gospel is powerful and convicts the hearts of sinners! Amen!

1 Corinthians 1:18
[ Christ the Wisdom and Power of God ] For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

There is no proof that any of that happened.

While we do know there were Christian martyrs, people are willing to give their lives for less than the son of a deity.

Plenty of Germans followed the deranged teachings of Hitler, going so far as to torture and kill people, and he wasn't even a deity. I'd say being willing to commit those kinds of crimes for someone is comparable to being willing to give your life.

Hundreds of suicide bombers give their lives for what they believe. Why don't you believe what they believe?

Sorry. I don't do things just because someone told me to or because everyone else is doing it. Baaaaaaa.
