You will probably only have one injection. It will hurt for about half a second. It feels like a strong pinch but only in a very very small area.

1. Tell the doctor, nurse, etc. that you have a serious needle phobia. They can help you! They can possibly numb the site with a cream first to make it hurt less, give you something to squeeze, help distract you, etc.

2. Take some deep breaths before hand. If you have a music player, bring it with you and play your favorite song during the injection.

3. Above all remember that this will only hurt for less than a second. You can do things to make it easier, but there is also the school of thought that the more you build it up in your mind as something to fear, the more you will suffer. Tell yourself it's no big deal and you will get through it just fine.

I had a mole removed on my chest. I got one shot, she waited until I couldn't feel anything, then she cut it out. I was just laying there while she was cutting away but I couldn't feel or see anthing. If you can make it through that one shot, the rest should be a breeze. Try looking the other direction and trying to name all the states or something while she's giving the shot. Good luck.

I used to have a needle phobia but the best way to overcome it is to have one! They now use micro needles which you hardly feel. I actually look forward to them now! Knowing how scared I used to be and now how proud I feel when I have one with no fuss! You probably think that's a bit mad but just remember the fear of something is always far more painful than the actual thing you fear!

Maybe they can put a topical on your skin first to numb the area, and then give you the needle, and then you won't feel it. Just close your eyes, take a deep breath, and ask you doctor, or the nurse, before they start, what your options are. Good luck.
