My husband has to get up at 5:30 every morning to get ready for work. He sets an alarm, and so do I. I wake him up, but unless I poke and prod at him for almost a half hour he doesn't stay awake. What are some ways that are less taxin on me, that will get him up and keep him up?

Note: He claims it's because there is no sun when he gets up.

Unsolicited fellatio that begins at 5:28 a.m. Problem solved, and the Hubby will let you go shopping.

Either splash cold water on his face, which he can't go back to sleep wet. He'll stay awake because he'll be upset and when you're upset, you can't sleep. But if he's a violent person, then I don't recommend that. You can try turning on all the lights and have the TV or radio on. Don't keep the room, that he's in, quiet. It's hard, for some people, to go back to bed with noise. Or you can tell him what you're going to do for him when he gets back home from work. Maybe that'll motivate him to get up and to look forward to whatever it is you have planned for him. Good luck.

Not to be rude, but he sounds irresponsible. If he doesn't mind being late and his job doesn't mind I guess let him sleep in. As a grown man, he should not need his wife to wake him up "every" morning. I know some morning you over sleep but every morning? Maybe he needs a job with a later start time.

As for suggestions, cold rag to the face and neck, turn on all lights, and tvs/radios. Some people are heavy sleepers and it may take a lot to rouse him.

If it claims he cant stay up because the sun isnt up, then shine a light in his face.
