I'm 20 years old and my mother yells at me constantly for buying and reading of cosmo magazine. She yells at me month after month.
Yesterday she did it again."why do you even buy this smutt for? just reading the cover is sick"
I didn't answer her. I honestly look at clothes, yes i read the sex stuff sometimes. but the real life stories are amazing. i've been reading it since i was like 14-15 years old!! I already know all this sex stuff.
its not like i'm brining porn into the house.

Don't upset her by letting her know you are doing something she does not approve of.
Keep the magazine in your room and don't wave it in her face just to start an argument.

Your mother doesn't like the fact that her daugher is reading that kind of magazine, especially because it involves SEX.. I'm guessing that In her eyes she still sees you as her little girl.. I know this sucks but you have to sit down and explain to her that you get the magazing for fashion.. Explain to her that the Cosmo Magazine is one of the top fashion magazines as well.. Maybe she will understand more...

Photocopy a great article, and say "mom, I found this in a magazine at the library, and thought it was great". When she reads it and loves it, reveal the copy of Cosmo it came from.
I also do not like Cosmo, personally I feel that it just enforces all the garbage women have grown up hearing ("you must be prettier", "you must be skinner", "you must be better in bed", and recently "you must dress sluttier if you want attention from men"), not my cup of tea at all, but you are an adult. I dont think of that's! yet in spite of! yet I have been given in hardship in 4th grade for taking a victorias secret magazine to college! lol i for my area didnt be attentive to what the magazine exchange into on the time yet I observed this camo. gown that i bought as a cover up for swim suits and that i confirmed it to a million of my associates and my instructor took it away i exchange into pissed!

if you are living in your mom's house then she gets to make the rules....i think it's kind of a ridiculous thing to pick a fight over, but maybe your mother has valid reasons for her opinion....just because something doesn't interfere with your morals, doesn't mean it won't challenge some-one else's morals.......i would either not keep the magazine in the house or only read it when she's not around........no matter how ridiculous the rules are, it's her house-she gets to make em

WhI have a feeling your mom doesnt want you to grow up just quite yet. Let her know about her adult life and how her mom would always be on her back and say "I'm an adult".

I read it too but only sometimes. Those mags are thick. Anyway my Mom is fine with it she even reads then herself. So just ignore her. Your 20 so u can read whatever u want. And there is useful stuff in there.
