I just posted this to someone else who asked the same question.

The best car stereo on the market right now would be Eclipse, they might not be the flashiest, but as far as sound, control, and reliability, they are the best. Then you'd have to go with Pioneer, both the regular and Premier lineups. Pioneer has been doing car audio for a long time, and their decks are always going to be on the top of the list. After that, I'd have to go with Alpine, but only if you are planning on doing a system. Then you fall into the rest: Panasonic, Sony, JVC, Kenwood, etc. Another good company is Nakamichi, but they are hard to find, are a little expensive, and don't look that great, but they are audiophile stereos.

Now as far as decks $150-200 with aux inputs on front I'd have to go with either Sony or JVC, each has a few units that match this. Now if you just want an aux input (could be on rear), then look into Pioneer, Alpine, Eclipse, and Panasonic.

If you have any questions feel free to email me. Hope this helps.

I personally like Clarion. They have some killer systems that sound and work great. Also, Polk Audio has some relatively inexpensive speakers that preform well.

Check the link below... They have great options, and good customer service. I have bought from them many times.

I like my alpines intuitive controls and high power handling. A head unit is really about personal choice though. as long as you get something name brand you should be fine
