I would leave the french fried onions off of the top until you reheat it so they are crunchy.

Yes you can. I'm doing the same thing tonight. I want to get all of my casseroles, etc. done so all I have to do tomorrow is heat the Turkey. Good advice above about leaving off the french fried onions. Do that last thing tomorrow before putting it in the oven. Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Yes, just be sure to keep it refrigerated and wait to sprinkle the fried onions on at the last minute before baking

If you are making the one with those canned onion pieces I would cook the casserole without them and the next day just heat it up with the onion pieces on. Because otherwise they will get smooshy and too brown.

You can get it all prepared - except - do not add the frendh fried onions until just before you bake it, otherwise they will get soggy. I am getting mine ready today.
