This is lymphangitis a potentially serious infection of the deeper tissues as it may rapidly progress through the lymphatic vessels so you must be seen by a physician and started on antibiotics TODAY please do not wait until after the holiday. The antibiotic must have broad coverage and good tissue penetration and the 2 most common generics are cephalexin (penicillin will not work) and ciprofloxacin both of which are on WalMart's $4 prescription program at least in Florida and Texas. Good luck.

Sounds like possibly blood poisoning but you didn't say if there had been a cut or whatever - regardless - NOT A GOOD SIGN!! get yourself to Emergency care now - do not wait. Any of the other possible conditions that I can think of are equally as serious as you require medical help - yesterday.

An infection that is causing a red line to travel up the arm is potentially serious. I recommend seeing a doctor as soon as possible.

It sounds like an Infection. The infection is in a vein travelling to the heart. You should make an appointment to get some antibiotics. Do you have a fever? Did you get a cut or bite?
