Infiltrating our universities and colleges and internet.........that you are all about peace, love, and understanding. You have one goal, kill the infidels, make the entire world Muslim. You can't fool all the people.

I do not associate it with terror.

But the truth is that I cannot really figure it out that well. The fact that terrorism is caused by this religion, and the fact that I cannot hear criticism from the non-terrorist muslims against terrorism, makes me very un-easy.

It's not that I am against Muslims, but I don't really know where they stand. This means I cannot really figure them out, which causes me to trust a Muslim far less than an atheist, or Christian.

I'm an atheist, I grew up in Christian dominated world, therefore I can figure them out. This is why I can trust them.

I cannot figure Jewish people out either, but I can trust them more, since their religion is not related as much to terrorism.

If I would know more Muslims/Jews, I might change my attitude.

I have very warm feelings towards Islam. I was a Christian for a time, and I was not pleased with the religion at all. I wanted spiritual meat, and Christianity felt like water to me. There was no substance, in my opinion. I then started to listen to Muslims. Being an African-American, I had seen and met plenty of Muslims, and I was taken with their demeanor. They seemed to be on the front line of all of the community's battles, whereas Christians wanted to just pray about what was going on. I had a very meaningful (albeit brief) sojourn into the religion of Islam. It was invigorating, and empowering. I felt as if I had been given my power back. Although I am no longer considering Islam to be my faith, I am forever thankful to Islam for what it taught me. I will be forever grateful to Muslims, and to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). I do not associate Islam with terror, but with freedom.

A few years ago, everything I knew about Islam could be summed up in such things as Lawrence of Arabia, or 1001 Arabian Nights...or, if you wanna get silly, Ahab the Arab.....
You were strange, mysterious, fascinating...even a bit romantic.
Since then, Islam has become synonymous with "terror". I've read parts of your Quran, I've researched your beginnings, I've seen how you've duped our disaffected black youth...and, while I am sure you are "not all like that", I am sorry, but I do not trust you.

I'm a Muslim and i don't associate terror when i hear the words Islam or Muslim. Are there terrorist who are Muslim? yes. Are there terrorist who are Catholic? Yes. Are there terrorist who are christian? Yes. Are there terrorist who are Jews? Yes. Are there terrorist who are atheist? yes. So why is it only attached when you hear the word Muslim? Prejudice pure and simple. And can i ask what do you mean your not a "strict" Muslim. You either follow the religion or you don't. I don't consider myself "strict" anything. Do i follow the 5 pillars of Islam? yes i do. Does that make me strict? Do I worship God as he has asked us to worship him? yes i do. Does that make me "strict"? I never thought of my religion as strict. What is it that you are not doing i wonder? I think Islam is simple to follow not strict at all. I dont get it.

I do.
If you study the history of Mohammedanism from a non-Muslim point of view, then you will understand that Islam=terror. Like I tell my Catholic friends who just can not believe how criminal their church is-you must read history from a non-Catholic viewpoint. Then you will know. There is a very educated Palestinian named Annis Shorrosh, he holds 2 doctorates in religion. He is an expert on Islam, Christianity , and Judaism. One of his books: "Islam Revealed" can open your eyes. Check it out.

Sorry, I have to say yes. Before 2001, muslims were just a strange, faraway, mysterious religion that had no bearing on the real world. After 2001, it has been a nearly daily threat to modern existence. We need to see you as you claim yourselves to be, as vital, positive contributors to society. Until that happens, you can count on being categorized in a manner you will most certainly find unflattering.
