You most likely mean TSH which is thyroid stimulating hormone also known as thyrotropin. This is an extremely sensitive test of thyroid function. It works by a thermostat like 'feedback' loop so high TSH means low function. If there is no other thyroid problem this is about the easiest and least expensive medical problem to have and everyone gets something sooner or later. Levothyroxine is prescribed and the dose adjusted until the TSH is in the normal range after which the TSH is checked yearly.
