As a young girl I loved him with total abandon and devotion...my dad walked on water. As I matured, however, and began developing, he withdrew from me and stopped hugging and touching me. I guess he was either put-off by my becoming a woman, or perhaps afraid of abuse issues...I don't know, but it really hurt me and I did not understand it. The end result is that I looked for what was lacking in other guys...I am not permanently damaged but wish it could have been a little more affectionate before he died. I love him forever, tho'.

I grew up intimidated by my father. Only because he was such a large man with a very "strong" voice of authority. Went through my fair share of his trying to control my life through my early adult life. After one MAJOR blow out....and my standing my ground with him..he has a new respect for me as an adult, and our relationship now is one I wouldn't trade for the world. My dad is Great!!

I am 25 and I will tell the truth.

As a child, I barely had a nice relationship with him. We barely talk to each other. I am not open to him. I always feel uncomfortable talking and expressing my feelings to him. He is a very strict and old-fashion man.

I grew up living with my father, My mother died when I was only 4 years old. So all my life I have lived with my dad. It was hard talking to him about "Girl" stuff but he understood. Now I talk to him about anything really. Yes we have arguments, but what parent and child doesn't. He never hit me. So i'm lucky, My father is awesome.. .
