A student visa doesn't give you the right to live here, ever, because it is a non-resident visa and is above quotas for resident visas.

However, if you get a job lined up for after graduation, you can apply for a change of status to an H1B visa, but you need a sponsor and need to do the paperwork early enough in the year before the H1B visas for the year are gone.

You may can apply for HSMP visa. The Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP) is a points-based visa designed to provide an immigration route for highly skilled individuals to enter or remain in the UK. As one of the most popular means of immigration to the UK, the HSMP allows you come to the UK to live and seek employment or self-employment opportunities.
Good luck!!

If you came here on a student visa and have finished studying, then you are no longer a student. If your student visa has run out, then please go back to where you came from and put your qualifications to good use.

It's 10 years legally, or 14 years legally and illegally mixed. Also, when you complete 2 years marriage/unmarried partnership visa, and if you are still with your wife/husband/partner, then you are entitled to apply for it too. When you complete 4 years work permit/HSMP, you can apply for it as well.

Apply for a permanent visa if you finished off your studies and ask for a six month stay, than your visa can be done in process in those six months.. Good luck!

There are various ways in obtaining indefinite leave to remain. Through relationship (married or unmarried), studies, work and others. I would suggest you to refer to Home Office website. (look under apply for indefinite leave to remain)
