I've been marry 16 years, and since the birth of our sons, my wife has had stretch marks. I find my wife even more beautiful today, then I did back then. LOVE does not allow me to see the marks as disgusting...

This is a two part question.
Are stretch marks ugly?
Does a man in love think they are?

Are stretch marks ugly?
Everyone has their own intrinsic overall beauty/blemish Quotient.
Their grooming, bearing, self-confidence are all factors at play before any judgement is arrived at, by any observer male or female.
Certain people in good physical shape might wear stretch marks as beautiful rite of passage in a well rounded life.
It is unhappily true that extreme deformations can cause distress in the beholder no matter how politically correct they might be.

Now...Does a man in love think they are disgusting?
This is where anxiety over what he thinks can be allayed. Because if he is in love his brain hormones will have reduced his capacity for negative/critical brain stimulation, and love conquers all.

As any parent knows those hormones make even the most curious looking baby the most wondrous beauty

If a man loves a woman, truly loves her, then things like stretch marks should not matter. Those marks are just signs of something that is very dear to you which is a child. A person should only be judged from their inside. Not what is on the outside. If they cannot accept all of you, then maybe think twice about whether or not they are worthy of you.

I think the stretch marks on a belly is a sign of a real woman, it states she's been there done that, when it comes to child bearing. My wife has some from our kids.. been married 20 years and it's never bothered me. :)

Absolutely not! It might be a push to say that they are sexy, but they are the ultimate symbol of your femininity, your fertility. You had the children for the two of you and this is the small reminder of the changes your body had to endure.

So, actually i think they would make me love you even more.

any man who thinks that his wife's stretch marks are gross needs help. She grew a human being and sometimes it leaves marks.

My husband says he really doesn't even notice them anymore. I'm more self conscious of them then he is.

my hubby doesn't care at all. as a matter of fact, i have been thinking about what tattoo i should get for my kids and i am seriously thinking about tattooing on the biggest stretch mark that they each gave me. to me they are not ugly, they are symbols of womanhood and i am proud of mine.

My husband has said he considers them my 'badge of courage' for going through pregnancy, labor and delivery twice. They are a reminder of what I have given him, 2 beautiful children.
