Candy companies often use artificial flavors when creating a product, and let's face it, a banana Runt that tasted like an actual banana would be kinda gross.

Other fruity flavors in candy that taste nothing like the real fruits are:
-Grape (especially in gum and snowcone syrup)
-Watermelon (ditto)
-Sour apple
-Cherry
-Strawberry
-Orange (think orange Runts or Starburst)
-Peach
. . .and many others.

I think the most accurate flavor in many candies is lemon, not really in Starburst or Skittles, but definitely in Lemonheads!

I haven't tasted not one fruit candy that taste like the real fruit. Why? Because they're artificial flavors.

Because it's more fun to eat that artificial nail polish smelling flavored banana.

Hrm. Neither does grape candy. They use artificial flavoring instead of say, an extract.

bananas, when cooked lose their flavour so it is most likely to have an artificial flavouring added
