If I had a time machine, I doubt that I would go looking for Jesus.
But if I happened to find him, I am sure that he would understand me as he was the Son of God, right?
God would not stop me because he does not seem to dabble in worldly events...There are those who would point out that he did in the Old Testament, but I am almost convinced that this was a different God altogether. The God of the Old Testament demanded sacrafice and gave the people a choice- believe or die.
The God of the New Testament (Jesus) is all about forgiveness.
But what if I did Meet up with Jesus. What would I accomplish? I might be persuaded to become a Christian possibly but I would not be able to change the events of the New Testament. I doubt Jesus would listen to me and jump in the time machine to avoid being crucified because he already knew that he was going to be killed and was fine with it. He knew that he had to do it as it was part of the plan.
If I had a time machine and went back to meet Jesus, I would just end up very sad as I would not be able to 'rescue' him from a horrible death...and ultimately from resurrection.
If I had a time machine I would go back to 5/5/1989...I think I could have made a difference there.
Peace

First of all. Jesus understands all languages. And you don't have to go back in time to talk to Jesus. And no I don't think God will allow anyone go back in time.

God made you so of course Jesus would be able to understand you. I talk to God and I know he understands me so I don't think it would have made a difference between living now and living back then or going back in time.

That's very interesting. I think He would understand me, actually.
But I don't think time travel is really possible.
If it was, I'd like to see the beginning. I want to know what the air smelled like, what the fruit tasted like.
However, I think I'd be afraid of going back in time, because if people could see me, then I would be able to potentially influence the course of history. I don't think I'd want to do that.
Everything worked out exactly the way it had to.

Well. Seeing as we're all discussing fiction here. I would go back to the beginning (I'd probably need a space suit too) and ask God for the recipie for creating something from nothing.

I have time travelled many times. Jesus himself was a time traveller from the year 8377 I believe. He was punished when he returned for messing up the world too much.

It interests me that the use of "if" prior to the tiime travel machine makes the case a hypothetical one, yet there is no "if" before God.
Seems to me a time travel machine has more possiblity of being real than God does....

I think Jesus would understand me if that were to happen, not likely that will, though. We aren't that advanced yet. Our technology, that is.
