I like using the bag. It makes for easy clean up which is great at the holidays. Better to spend time with family and friend than cleaning the kitchen. Happy Holidays!

We cook ours (either turkey or ham) on a rack in the roasting pan with a tent of foil on it. We usually remove the foil during the last half hour of cooking.

When I do mine in the oven (we usually fry) I use a bag just because of the convenience...it comes out perfect every time.

If you don't have even a regular roaster or foiled pan, you can use a roasting bag. Breast down always keeps the bird moister.
