I live in Canada and sent my 14-year-old to live with his father in the US almost 2 years ago. It was agreed I would be allowed to call my child on weekends, but for several months now, I have been refused contact by his step-mom. In the beginning, he was "not at home" then during the summer, I was told he would be spending the whole summer at his grandmother's (but he wasn't there most of the summer, and I didn't know this) now she's saying that she will not allow contact, and anything I have to say, I should let her give him the message. How do I go about legally enforcing contact with my son even though I reside in Canada?

Get a lawyer - it's your only hope. And why did you send your child away? And it's up to his guardians (father and step-mom) to decide who best to be able to contact the child. Did you do something to upset them this much? Or to the child? Seems to me like there's info here that's missing. If it's due to you not being able to afford to keep him home, you should have tried harder. I have 2 children, and never would I ever consider sending them away, to their father's or anywhere else in this world. I have worked 2 jobs for 10 years to make a life for them, and I spend as much time with them as possible.

hi, the only option open to you is to return to the courts that issed the 1st order, wes it a verbal agreement between two parties ie legal bindng. you need to consult your lawyer. Or try to gget your son home. Its evidient that there is alot of history which rightly this is not the forum. we need more info (non-sensitive)
seek legal advice and guidance. good luck from the UK
