I am a Latter-day Saint also. Good to meet you. PROS: All of these are superficial and secondary benefits. The primary benefit is having the influence of the Holy Ghost. Strong families, being happy, living fulfilled lives, eternal families, temple blessings, all of these are primary. The pros that you listed can apply to anyone. CONS: Members of EVERY religion can be sexist. That has no bearing on the Church itself. You will decide whether or not you personally will be. The Book of Mormon is a historical record translated by the power of God and confirmable through the Holy Spirit. It is not a Mormon version of Aesop's fables. Not believing the majority itself doesn't cause contention. Attitudes, not beliefs, determine contention. As a convert who joined when I was 19, I have served a mission and lived both sides. What matters when it comes to your relationship with the Lord and your faith is NOT what people online tell you, or people in person tell you. What matters is what you think and what the Lord thinks.
