religion ? Seems to me that believing in something that just willed it so , is much simpler and easier to explain than any type of science . I don't see how religion provokes thought at all .

well gee ... that's the point. that's why believing in a creation myth instead of science is easier. no complex thinking, no in depth studying, no extended understanding, no extra effort required. "God did it" simple.

then you would be denying yourself the one thing that sets us apart from every living thing on this planet. the ability to think. of course it would be easier to think that god did it all but if we did we'd still be in caves. i'm not saying that science must be the only way either. to me there should be a balance. we as humans strive to find the answers to life's questions but we must also realize that there is a great spiritual unknown that cannot be explained by science and it shouldn't be.

Yep. It also can never be tested. It's the perfect belief - then the rest of society is told never to criticize because that would be 'offensive'!
