This Christian answer tends to defy the very nature of all-loving, all-forgiving, all-good GOD. In my mind, if any such thing as God exists, he/she would be far more superior than man. God must not hate but love, all unconditional love, unlike man. So, saying God favoring one over another proved that God is actually man-like, and of course, disprove the idealism of being God. Jesus seems more like a cult-leader than God.

Please do not be offended, I have seen so many things don't make sense. People kill over difference between religion-driving cultures (i.e. Muslim vs Christian). It just seem to me that the world will be a better place if Jesus had not been born at all. Again, I don't mean to offend anyone, but I can't help saying what I think.

to Epitome_inc - You had given a very realistic example about the business man and Hawaii trip. It's true that no one can be rich enough to buy everybody in the world a Hawaii trip. God, however can not be apply or compare to man because his power are supposedly unlimited. In my life, there are thing I did that I felt sorry and regret, and tried to learn from it. Does it meant I saved by God? Or do I have to go and say "i'm sorry" to the confession booth in order to get save? What is a real difference?

God is not man made. God is real, but man has very unpleasant opinions of God. Most people notice that God seems to be made in our image, instead of us being made in His. I hate the fact that religion has tainted the name of God so much that people are disgusted by the idea that He even exists. True love -without the abstract principle of justice involved- does not require such stringent protocol. It should not, and does not require one to act in a particular way or do a particular thing. God is absolutely powerful, no? I have heard it said that absolute power demands absolutely nothing. What would the Source of All Things demand of anyone? What would that Source do with Allegiance? What would that Source do with Worship? These are not necessary. God is real, and God is the epitome of love. Unlike man, God demands nothing, and there is no 'justice' that will stand between Him, and His children.

Ghandi would disagree with you. He said that if everyone lived by the teachings and principles Jesus gave on the Sermon on the Mount, the earth would be a better place.

But to answer your first question about applying the ransom to everyone on earth, consider the following:

Suppose a business promised a free trip to Hawaii for every customer. The owner has bought enough trips for everyone who could possibly show up. Do you get the trip if you don't go to the store? No. The same is true of the ransom. Yes, Jesus died for your sins. But the Bible makes it clear that to benefit from that, you must recognize that you're sinful in the first place, and show true repentance. Why would God forgive you if you're not sorry?

God doesn't favor one man over another. The bible says "God is no respector of persons" That means that what God does for one man, He can do for another. The key to this is that God gives every man a free will and it is really up to you whether or not you receive all of the kingdom blessings (Being a son or daughter) or don't receive anything (unbelievers). If you choose to accept His son Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior then favor will find you.
There are a lot of people out there who are deceived (this deception does not come from God) but it comes from Satan. God does not want the people who are deceived to be killed because they don't believe in Him. In fact, every person has an opportunity to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ before they die. This includes tribes that have never seen outsiders. God will send an angel if He has to; in order to give one soul an opportunity to be saved.
God so loved YOU that if YOU were the only one person on earth that could be saved, He still would have sent His only son to be crucified for YOU and you alone.
Let Go of all of your preconceptions of who you think God is or should be and give Him a chance to show you who He really is.
His love is perfect and unconditional! With the love of Christ, God Bless

Since I don't intend to speak for God, understand that this is only my human, finite, imperfect thinking on the subject. God is love, and He showed His love by allowing His only perfect Son to die to pay for the sin of the world. God is spirit, and the spiritual relationship is the key. I believe that sprituality transcends our concepts of religion, and many may indeed accept and believe in that highest love, the uncaused first cause from which all life springs, yet never actually have a cerebral knowledge of Jesus Christ or His atoning sacrifice. So, if you have made the spiritual connection with the creator and savior of the world, you believe in Jesus Christ, regardless of what your brain might tell you. I don't think that God put any physical criteria down for receiving His love and redemption. But one thing I do know is that no human being can state with total knowledge that Jesus Christ is NOT the Son of God, come down from Heaven to give us eternal life, and those that claim to "know" this are either blind, fools, or both.

Hi, I understand your point but you are forgetting that God is also a God of Justice, and His Mercy and Justice are equally important attributes of His very essence, you cannot plump for an all merciful God and take away this just attribute, it would mean that God is not complete in Himself.
God has decided by His very nature that we follow His commands as He has the just rights as Creator, if we decide that God must conform to our human way of thinking then God becomes not our Creator but our slave, and the creature usurps the role of God, and this would be rebellion, and so you can see that this has already taken place as the Bible tells us in the garden of Eden, and really we are still by our stubborness, living out that rebellion.

It can be a little hard to understand, but God has His reasons. I believe that God is a gentleman that allows us to accept Him or deny Him. Sure He has the ability to make each and every one of us accept Him and be saved. But what kind of followers would he have? Look at it this way, lets say your single and looking for a partner in marriage. You can wait patiently and develop a relationship with this person that develops into a loving partnership. Or what if you had the power to simply force someone to marry you, even if you know in their heart that they don't want to be with you. Which relationship is going to mean more to you? I believe this is what God is doing.

Jesus does embody unconditional love. God cannot tolerate sin. Everyone is a sinner and the only way that we can do away with our sin is to believe in Jesus. It is our choice, and a simple choice at that, to believe in Jesus. If there had been no Jesus, there would not be any way for us to rid ourselves of sin. If we could not get rid of our sin, we cannot be in the prescense of God. Being seperated from God is the true definition of Hell. I hope this helped.

I'm not offended. You are not the first person to have your head screwed on backwards. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life". This is not a "Christian answer". It is God's Word. God doesn't have to act the way you think He should. He is God and our ways are not His ways. Just be thankful He gave you a choice and make that choice to believe in Him.

Were it only that simple!

47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself , neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes . For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

God and JEsus expect their followers (servants) to know better and always be doing the work of the Lord, least they face harsh punishment

Non-believers or knowers who are ignorant will also be punished, but not as harshly.

Jesus said only through him can you get to the father, but that doesn't necessarily mean getting into heaven or staying there

Jesus said those who beleive in him will have everlasting life, but he didn't where

Revelations says there is a book of Life and if your name is not in it, out you go.

This is about your allegences and works and whom or what you align yourself with.

That's the way the bible says it's supposed to work.

Just because the JEws are the chosen ones, doesn't mean God will choose every one of them. Just because Christians are saved and annexed through Jesus doesn't mean they will all be admitted through the pearly gates.

God decideds each persons fate on their own merits and the yard stick used by God.

No offense, but you have the wrong "Jesus."
The Jesus of the Bible said:
John 14:6
Jesus said* to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

You may have gotten this partial view of Jesus from John 3:16:
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

But do not forget the rest of the the paragraph, John 3:17-18

"For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. 18 "He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

God's love leads Him to be jealous for the object of His love.
Exodus 20:5-6 5 "You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6 but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments."
