Hi ya
abeen there!!! its horrible, especially when your partner does not support you.
]I HAD POST NATAL AND MY FAMILY REFERED ME TO A MENTAL HEALTH TEAM, they never helped me, i was left to deal on my own, but i started meditating and my faith in god helped me get out, but i dont think we can ever get rid of it it pops up especially Time of month.
weeks ago i asked the same ques on yahoo, another lady said having St John Wort, its good, i now have evening proimrose tabs, wish someone advised me proper,

anti natal classes always tell you about birth excercise etc... but they never told me about P..N.D! hey email me it will be nice to talk more.. take care

i have four kids and have suffered post natal depression since my oldest boy was born nine years ago, my youngest is nearly two and it has never went away so they now call it clinical depression and say if i never had kids i probably never would have suffered. i would not trade my kids even if i could go back but it can be hard to cope with at times. i am on medication and have been for all these years except when i was pregnant i would not let them give them to me while i was pregnant. and believe it or not i always felt better when i was pregnant. i have mood swings that go from weepy to rage, i dont know how my poor husband has stuck it for so long. i also developed compulsions ie i hoovered my floor maybe ten times a day although in the last couple of years this a eased off and i have to say i have more good days than bad now. dont be ashamed to ask for help i waited nearly two years before i gave in and i had to have a nurse come every day , take the medication it does help and talk i kept it bottled for so long and when i finally started talking it was my salvation. good luck for the future i hope everything turns out ok email me if you need any more support my email is glover288@btinternet.com

I would try to post this question in the parenting section. You may have more luck getting support from someone who has kids. I have been there and done that 3 times but it wasnt bad enough to call it depression. I think for me it was just my hormones out of wack and at obout 6 mo. postnatal it started to go away.

Check out Yahoo groups. I bet one already exists.
You are on the right track looking to talk with others who are suffering as you are.
I wish you the best.

I don't know any support groups, but could I suggest a good multi vitamin. PND can be made worse by vitamin deficiencies (particularly zinc) which occur due to the birth.
