it's fairly easy to add additional ram modules into your computer.
basically, you open the cover, identify any free ram spaces, and put in the new modules (you need to be earthed in order to do this).
on the other hand - since you have to ask... you need to buy the new modules someplace, why don't you take your computer there and let them do the work? this way, it is not your fault if they destroy something. pricing will not deviate much compared to internet prices...

it depends on the type of ram there are 2 types of ram sd ram and dd ram.the only thing u have to do is open ur cpu and take the ram and see the chip inside to identify its sd or dd and then replace it with 512 ram or add another 256 mb ram so it will total to 512.to insert the ram there wud be a slot near to ur previous ram insert another 256 ram to it

get other 256 ram stick and put in the slot thats it...
but make sure wht type of ram u r mother borad supports..
SD,DDR,DDR2 the some of the types..
if u r using the older one pc that may be SD RAM..

You'll have to buy a new stick of memory (or two). Go to www.crucial.com and input your computer type. This way you will be guaranteed to get the correct type as there are many different types of RAM.
