I'm not seeing a date on this, so I don't know how late I am in answering. However, the same thing happened to my cat. I brought him to a specialist and she said to give him a week for the toxics to work through his system. And they did and he's fine. He was just too sensitive to the toxins in the over-the-counter wormer. The specialist did say never use over-the-counter wormers for any of my cats. They are not regulated and have toxic ingredients in the.

Why an emergency vet? Don't you have a regular veterinarian you Can take the cat to?
I bought some of that over the counter crap once and thought like you, I just killed my cat, well the kittie survived and a lesson was learned, Do not use any over the counter dewormers, If the worms your are talking about are those tiny tape worms around your cat butt, Use DRONCIT you can get from the vets office and has no side affects except dome diarrhea the first B/M and clears up after that.
See if you can get some fluids into kittie, try to flush out kitties system, I'm sure he will be OK in a day or two.

Seriously, the only thing you can do is go to the emergency vet or find another office that would be willing to take the cat during regular business hours even though you're not a regular.
We had to take our dog to the emergency vet and it cost us $650. See, they can charge whatever the hell they want because when it comes to an emergency people have no choice but to pay the price. The vet we went to wouldn't give us our dog back unless it was paid in full! Thankfully my in-laws gave us half to help out.
I think it's terrible that emergency vets have such strict policies for payment. Heck, even the human emergency room will let you walk out the door without paying anything and those bills can rack up to over $100k!
I know everyone has to make a living, but cut us some slack! We love our animals and I'm sure there are hundreds that get delayed treatment because the emergency vet was so expensive.

The vet knows it'll go away by itself.
According to http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:ijGdN-A6ihsJ:www.endellveterinarygroup.co.uk/download/feline-jan04.PDF+overdose+piperizine&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=6, "Cats are very sensitive to many drugs and care must be taken in calculating the dose given. Piperizine is a drug used in many cat worming treatments, it is of relatively low toxicity but in some animals can cause a temporary neurotoxicity leading to incoordination, salivation and hyperventilation. Even some flea sprays/collars can cause illness insome ill or sensitive cats."
Still, veterinary advise is sought. Your choice, although if it's been ongoing for a few days, it may go away before you know it. The keyword is "TEMPORARY".

That is why youe NEVER treat with something like that !!!!!!
Piprazine is a CRAPPY wormer!!! SHould have consulted the vet FIRST!!!!!!
IF you are putting meds in FOOD, you have to watch and make sure it is all eaten by the SAME cat!!
Guess you will have a BIG vet bill!!!!!!!!!!

They might have financing options, you should finance your cat's treatment at the emergency center right away.
