Hmm, I don't have an angry avatar.
Well, when I've talked to him he's never been angry. Perhaps he just gets angry when I'm not around.
Perhaps he's being taunted by Christians. That usually gets my goat as well. That and being forced to live with Christians enforcing their biblical views into law.
Usually I'm not angry though.
It reminds me of the racists that said all blacks were unhappy or angry. Of course, every time he was around them he would harass and antagonize them.
As an atheist, I've been reviled, called immoral, unethical, angry at god (that one's pretty funny, if you think about it), and despicable. I realize it's only a few Christians doing this, so I don't take out my feelings of being attacked on them. However, if you don't consider this as having an effect, then you really should try to get some balance in how you view others who are different.

I don't have an angry avatar. I used to have a squarehead smiley face, but now I'm just an obscure head shaped profile colored grey.

Maybe atheists are angry because you assume they are always angry because they aren't "filled with the Holy Spirit?"

So far I haven't seen a single one I'd call "angry." But don't worry, when our loving God gets hold of them, He'll send them to eternal suffering. (Wow .. that sounds like an angry God to me. Actually, He seems to lose it quite often. Have you asked HIM what's up with HIS short fuse?)
And as to your thesis about disbelief, do you not understand us because you believe, or do you believe because you don't understand us?
