This is a good question, especially if you are having guests... but the bigger the turkey, the better is my opinion... I would much rather have the leftovers anyway for later... and they can be frozen! So, if you do the 4 lbs. per person, and it comes out well, that is great! But if you have extra, and you don't want to keep the leftovers for yourself.. send some home with your guests in a ziplock baggie! You will know who wants the turkey to take home and who doesn't... watch for the ones who are lingering as you put the food away... they will appreciate it later... sandwiches for a snack or for lunch are really handy ... and there is always someone who will be hungry later on! So, I usually get at least a 20 lb. turkey... anything under that is just not big enough.... ;0) Enjoy!

If it's just for the mael, I'd say 1/2 to 1 pound per person, if you want more meals and leftover from it, 1.5- 2 pounds per person.

This is the first year we have alot of people, but in the past we would have 5 or 6 people, and get no more than a 7 pound turkey breast.

It probably depends on who you got coming to dinner. We always go 1.5 pounds per person.

It should be written somewhere on the bag that tell's you how many servings that you can get from the turkey. Hummmm! That is a good question!
