Are you the ONE who submitted the papers?

The breeder should have handed you the pre registration paperwork along with the pup.

The new owner applies for the registration of the dog not the seller.

Normally the papers come back to you fairly quickly especially if you applied on line.

You have probably been conned. If the dog was really kc registered he would have signed the papers over to you at point of sale and you would have then sent the change of ownership form to the Kennel Club. Then would then send the new certificate to you in about 2 weeks.
This is a common problem and is why everyone says only buy from established and recognised breeders.
Contact the guy and try and find out whats happening but I doubt you are going to get any results!
Never mind - your puppy is no different and loves you all the same!

I doubt you will get them. When you buy a KC registered pup, the breeder should register the pups when they are only a few weeks old and have everything ready to hand over when you pay for the pup.
When I bred, my pups went with all the proper paperwork, diet and care sheet, free insurance, puppy pack containing food, a bit of the bedding they used here, treats, toys etc. Plus the new owners got a proper receipt with all my contact details requesting I was contacted if ever they couldn't keep the dog at any stage of it's life as I would take it back.

Most the time if you don't get the papers right away with the purchase of your pup, it's usually a scam and the breeder won't be sending them to you.

Not saying that's the truth the WHOLE time, but reputable breeders have the puppy papers ready for the buyers when the pups go home. That's part of selling dogs.

I doubt you'll ever see those papers. Sorry.

The guy that you bought the puppy from should have given you the papers. You then forward the papers to the KC!

I have an awful feeling you've been had sweetie!

Are you talking about AKC papers??
Did the breeder file the papers for you OR sending you the puppy registration slip for you to send in??
First thing I would do is to call the breeder and ask where the papers are.
A Breeder should always have the papers ready to send home when the pup is purchased.
If the breeder filed for you ( in most cases they don't) then call AKC and ask them if this breeder has filed for a litter registration.
If they have no record of the litter being registered file a complaint against him with AKC.
The website is akc.org phone: 919-233-9767

It all depend`s on the history of your pup ! if it has an astounding pedigree ( loads of champion line`s etc ) then it will take up tp 6 week`s ( they will check out that the history is genuine )
