Under $200, I'd go for the Canon Powershot A540 or the A530.
They make a great product, the Powershot line is packed with features and both of these would be a great camera for this price range.

I would recommend the Canon Power Shot 5.0 megapixel camera with 4x optical zoom.That is $199.99/0 but it is $124/- in Circuit City Thanksgiving Sale! I am buying that camera

Canon PowerShot A530 5MP Digital Camera: from what I undestand it's a nice mixture of quality technology and price.
Look it up on Amazon.com, you should be able to find it for around $150.

Canon Powershot A430, A530 or A540, are all great choices. You will need a decent memory card, though. I'd say get at least 512 MB.

ok i got a fairly decent digital cam from wal-mart it is a kodak so it is a decent camera and has video recorder on it (but the shitty thing is it has no sound) but it cost me $ 114 for the camera and the memory card. and it is a nice cam.

A small digital camera would work really well. My really good friend bought one for $120 she is in love with it and it works really well and takes awesome pics.
