They should have categories for the muslim faith, christian faith, buddists, and other religions. since atheists have no religion, it should be under cultures and groups, like the lesbian/ gay section.
although some atheists will still come to the religion section just to hurtfully offend people, vice versa.

Most of us Atheists don't come to 'hurtfully offend people', but to disseminate the disinformation spread by the religious.

I agree. At least about the sub categories. I don't know what the division should be. It's been talked about a lot.
If this were the Religion section, I would agree that atheists should have a section under cultures and groups. But maybe if we just let them have a sub section within R&S that would work too. I've learned (surprisingly) that atheists have a spiritual side too. Or at least some do. So maybe we shouldn't completely kick them out of R&S.

I think that might actually do more harm than good. Yes, I'd like to be able to just find/post questions from/to Wiccans and Pagans, but if we had our own section it would be very easy for people to find our questions without having to sift through page after page and harrass us. The same is true for every religion. If someone has a particular beef with Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Judaism, Hindus or Athiests, they could just hang out all day in that section harrassing people. At least this way we have a fighting chance of the trolls getting bored before they find our questions.

Blessed be!

It should all be placed in the mythology category. I say that because none of the religions can be proven as fact. It is all about what you read in a book just like mythology.

yes you are right. there is no spirituality now a days in this rs category.most of the people spew venom and are flaring up communal passions . their questions and answers are striving to divide people on the basis of religion.though i am an atheist, several times i advised people not to hurt the sentiments of the people.

That would be great - then all Christians could converse as well as other religions to themselves - without hopefully all the bashing. But leave it to the atheists to be offending and ugly - as usual. I hate that. And they call us "intolerant" - go figure.

You asked the question before me!!! Not fair!

I think that it's definitely necessary in order not to offend other people. We should all be able to discuss our beliefs openly, without being criticized by those who believe otherwise.
