have this ex gf that i dated for 3 years. I love her with all my heart! i messed up in the relationship even thought she was far from being perfect. I took her for granted and should have showed her alot more attention and showed her i loved her. We started off on a break but lead to a break up it has been 2 months. Since then im the one that has tookin it hard i feel like she is controling the situation. i wont call her but she will call me every so often wanting to hang out. When we hang out she says "if we get back togather" then she will say that we are only friends at the moment no affection thing is i dont call her she calls me what are her Intentions she says "she wants to start over as friend and rebuild the trust" is that just her keeping me attached? or is she serious?

To paraphrase one of the greatest songs of all time...she wants you to want her...she clearly misses you and wants to be with you.
However, while you SAY you love her with all your heart, you've not done anything to SHOW her that. You "...won't call her..."? You state freely that you "...took her for granted, and should have showed her alot more attention..." but won't even CALL her? Come ON dude! Thats the SIMPLEST of things to do! Let her know you're thinking about her!
When she says she wants to "start over as friend and rebuild the trust" she means she doesn't trust you with her heart anymore. She wants to start as "friends" because "friends" for the most part don't have a physical relationship. She doesn't want to be in that situation where you guys aren't dating, but are still having sex, because than she's screwed (pun intended). It'll be just like the relationship except NOW you're both free to explore other relationships while satisfying your physical needs...unfortunately in this situation one person always gets more emotionally attatched than the other person, and that person ALWAYS ends up crushed.
Your girl is serious. She does want a relationship with you. However you have to want it too, AND you have to prove to her that you want it. Start by calling her. Take her to a movie. Do some of those cute little things you did to win her heart in the first place...and see where it leads from there. Good Luck.

I sound to me like she is just trying to keep your attention. The hardest part of any break up is the thought that your EX will be with someone else. It seem like she thinks that if you are still thinking about her then you will not be with anyone else. I would ask her to take it to the next step and see what she says. If she think it's still to soon, ask her why. There's no reason why you two can't work things out while you are together. If your going to be friend, then be friends and work on a friendship. But if it a relationship she wants then there's no reason why she can't be committed to you. Unless there still something else she wants out in the streets...

You need to ask her this. Ask her straightforward if she is seeing anyone else or if she is only talking to you. You need to know what is going on, and I highly doubt anyone on yahoo answers knows exactly what your situation is with her. Just be honest with her, tell her how you feel and see if she is serious about wanting to get back together. Good luck

Its hard to lose feelings for someone in that little of time when yous have been together for three years.
She still wants you back she just might be seeiing if you still care about her and if you would treat her better if she would take you back.
