Never heard of Duel. £70 is expensive for a DVD player but extremely cheap for a DVD recorder. I bought a JVC DVD recorder from Comet recently and it proved to be nothing but trouble. It never worked properly and was back at the Comet workshop for 6 weeks. Eventually, I got a refund. It cost £190, so there is a big difference. You don't need to pay more than £20 for a simple DVD player. At least with Asda, if anything is wrong with it within the guarantee period, if you return it with the receipt you will easily get a refund. I bought a Hitachi DVD recorder the other day.(£190) It seems very good. Freeview channels, twin tuner so you can watch any channel whilst recording. Very easy to programme. The only drawback seems that because it records on to a hard disk, you can't play DVD's.

They are decent budget priced equipment and it sounds ok for the money.

They are quite a big manufacturer with a nice flashy website, have a look below.

The thing is, even a good company like Sony have made some real crap over the last 20 years so what is good is all relative.

You could buy a few magazines like what dvd to see the reviews and test reports but it's a desposable market now so not worth spending weeks on it.

Have a look at this site below, it shows you what offers are on at the moment from various companies and you might see a better deal.

surely. you're literally unlikely to believe this yet I went to Costco and placed a "Lite On" kind DVD recorder and participant for $one 0 5 it really is large. It archives in plus and minus and so on and runs CDs and DVD slideshows and so on. also. i might want to no longer believe it. The very last recorder I had became an RCA which fee $four hundred. It lasted one 12 months LOL

you pay for the quailty. check the back for manufactors label and see who does make it. also check for warrenties aswell. my advice is maybe spend a little more on your electronics and it will pay in the long run if you can.
