I disagree, you can have arthritis pain. I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at age 27. Typically the age range starts in your early 20's to age 50. Women are reported to have a higher percentage over men of being diagnosed. There is a test that a doctor can do to find out for sure. The symptoms you are describing remind me of when I first starting feeling pain like that. I was confused and said I was way too young. Check with another doctor and look on the internet regarding RA and see if you can get a better answer.

You can have arthritis at 19, though it is unlikely, I'd go back to the doctor again. It would be better to know what it is than what it probably isn't that's causing the pain.

Pl. do RA test and ESR. If ESR IS HIGH it is arthritis eventhough RA test is negative.
I feel it is due to some obstruction to nerve.
Whatever may it be massage, heating and acupuncture are the therapies to be followed.

Did your doctor just assume you can't have arthritis because of your age or did he check? My co-worker is in her early 20s and she has arthritis.

A "shocking" pain means a nerve is involved. You need to get a second opinion soon.

I think you should try another doctor. If that doesn't help get to a pain management center ASAP. You need help so don't stop until you get it. Good luck

Sounds to me like you sprained your hand and pinky. It will turn into a numb sort of pain.
