You're really lucky to have thick hair!! The hairdressers is your best bet I guess but also check the shampoo and conditioners you're using, make sure they are not helping to thicken your hair as some do!

Hi!
I have thick hair too. Yes, you can get it razor cut at the salon, and that will thin it a little or a lot, depends on your preference. I did this, and it looked great, until it grew out. I really had a problem trying to grow it long while getting it razor cut every so often. This was because every time it would start to grow long, it would need all of the thinned out peices cut off so that it didnt frizz. Maybe my hair dresser thinned it out too much. Not sure, but a professional stylit could definately help you out. Good luck!

A good hairdresser can certainly thin it. However, as far as damage goes, layered hair is more prone to split ends because the ends of the shorter hairs may be exposed longer before they grow out and are cut than they would if your hair was all one length and you got regular trims.

Welcome to the thick hair club. Yes you can go have it thinned. If you grow it long and don't get it thinned regularly, it will get very heavy. My hair dresser just loves my thick hair, but thick hair comes with it's own set of problems.

Yes, you can get the hairdresser to thin your hair. I have very thick hair as well and my hairdresser thins it regularly when I go in for a cut every 6 months. I've never had any problems.

Layering hair as it grows long will help to keep your thick hair under control.

thinning doesnt damage the hair.. its like a haircut but only a certain percent gets cut.. that will be the best idea... but still get it trimed so that the ends will be fresh too and not damaged and your hair will grow better

I doubt it would get damaged.
getting it thinned is pretty much just getting a hair cut right?
go ahead and get it thinned.
Just dont go TOO thin or youll go bald.
