Mistakenly people follow the "church" and "pastors" and "fathers" and the "pope" in these matters, all of whom are named with "father-figure" type names, a big no-no in the Bible. Because they follow what these people say without ever reading the Bible, they have been brainwashed into believing that Christianity forbids sex outside of marriage and that they should be a virgin during marriage.

In reality, the Bible say to not put ANY restrictions on sex between people, not age, race, religion, color of skin or hair or anything like that.

As for marriage, the actual marriage ceremony is one that is supposed to only be for those people who have had several kids together already and have found themselves comfortable with each other that they want to take the permanent vow and remain with each other eternally. The true marriage ceremony is not one that is supposed to exist on earth for the living. The true marriage ceremony is between two spirits (after death) that wish to be bound together for eternity, something far greater than the simple fleeting marriage of the flesh.

What is recognized in the Bible is that whomever you are currently having sex with is your current mate. That may change at any point in time over the years. The primary thrust of having sex is to have children and nothing should impeed that. The women keep the children at all points in time, but the men are just as responsible for raising their kids, no matter how many women have his kids.

I really can't talk about all the christians but I can talk about Catholics.Roman Catholic Christian forbid sex outside of marriage even if you are divorced or seperated. A mariage with a divorced person is not recognize by the Church therefore sex with that person is a sin. And to answer your question not most Christian go virgin to marriage especially nowadays.

Yes, God has declared pre-marital sex (fornication) and having sex with someone other than your spouse (adultery) to be sins. However, God also makes it clear that He will forgive anyone who truly repents of his/her sins. There are many examples in the Bible of men who committed adultery -- David is a prime example -- and God made sure that these men were made well aware of what they had done wrong. In some cases, God also punished them for their sins -- David lost a son because of his extramarital affair with Bathsheba. So David had to suffer for his sin, but God still loved him and still declared him as a man after God's own heart.

To answer the second half of your question: Many Christians are virgins when they get married, but not all Christians are. You'll find that most people, Christian or not, who are not virgins when they get married regret having sex before marriage. God intended for sex to be the ultimate expression of love between two married people (and contrary to popular belief, He also intended for it to be a very enjoyable activity in the context of marriage), but many people abuse sex in the same way that people abuse drugs -- they use it just to "feel good."

Does that help?

Yes, and no. Christianity does forbid sex outside of the marriage, but very few Christians are virgins when they get married. Most who are, are men. It is a popular custom for christians to do whatever they want sin wise because they are just saved sinners. No one is perfect, so they do not even try.

The Bible indicates that sex is for marriage. Outside of marriage it is either classed as a form of adultery, or as fornication. Adultery is having sex with a forbidden person (such as one who is already married). Sexual acts with an unmarried person (such as pre-marital sex) are sometimes called fornication. Fornication seems to be a broader term than adultery, and includes all categories of sexual sin. Both cases are sin, though the sins do not have equal weight. There are degrees of sin, as most people will recognize, but every sin, no matter how small, hurts God and is hateful to Him.

In the case of adultery, the punishment was death. Leviticus 20:10 says, "And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death."

In the case of pre-marital relationships, the punishment was for the man to pay the woman's bride price (dowry) to her father, and to marry her. If the father refused to give his daughter in marriage to him, he still had to pay the dowry. Exodus 22:16-17 "And if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife. If her father utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins."

So, yes, based on the Bible, sex is forbidden outside of marriage. Whether or not most Christians follow this, most probably recognize the truth of this. But many Christians, like all humans, are weak. I, for one, waited to have sex until marriage.

Yes. it says in the bible that marriage is a holy bond and that you should wait untill your married to have sex. But although most christians should be virgins, most are not from their past life of sin. When they got themselves together thats when they were able to substain.

Depends on which christian belief. However, most do say that sex s a sacred act of love only for a husband and wife. Not to mention how much safer it is to wait until marriage.
