Hajimemashite means "nice to meet you." It's literally something along the lines of "this is the first time" as in the first time meeting someone.
It's usually followed with "Dozo yoroshiku onegaishimasu" which doesn't have an English translation, and is difficult to approximate, but means something like "please treat me well" or "let's have a good relationship." Really hard to translate...
