Do you think immigration (NOT just illegal immigration) is the solution to world poverty?

Do you think by allowing mass immigration into the USA we can even make a dent in world povery? Do you realize it will destroy the USA if we continue to allow immigration at the large numbers it is now allowing; 800,000+ per year?

The Black Gunman - There is no solution to world povery. There will always be people who have less than others. EVERYONE can't be middle income. The only help for poverty in impoverished countries is to encourage intelligent skilled people IN THOSE countries to STAY THERE and work to assist THEIR countries, instead of immigrating to more modernized countries like the USA, They could be the ones to pull those countries out of third world status.

Women in the uSA have used birth control since before the 1950's and then when the pill was marketed, more used it. We were trying tocontrol our population and had approx. 2 per woman on average. Our country then allowed more and more immigrants into the USA wiping our what we were accomplishing through birth control. They added MORE than what we were reducing in population. BUT, we now have less offspring, those immigrants continued to have large families and WE rewarded them with taxpaid services WE paid for. Even the legal immigrants get incentives for coming here, buying homes, starting businesses, etc., which WE pay for. Third world countried DO need to use birth control. THEY need to reduce THEIR populations in their countries, not come to the USA to add to ours.

It would create a huge underclass in the US. This would in turn be a huge burden for the American tax payer. The country would probably collapse. Many educated Americans would move out of the country to protect their money. I know I would.

No. The problems have to be addressed by improving the economy in each country. This means better education and reduction in third-world debt. Many countries now spend most of their income on debt servicing to Western banks or governments.

The other problem is over-population. This requires cultural change. All families should realize that an increase the net population is bad for everyone. Each adult should have a maximum of one child; that child will eventually replace them when they die. Having more children is irresponsible and selfish.

I would give tax credits to men who father no children, and women who give birth to none. They are helping reduce over-population and should be rewarded.

We have poverty of our own legal Americans.That's the poverty that I want to see addressed first.We must help our own people help themselves.We can no longer try to feed the world,its just like with Mexico.Mexico is not a poor nation.It only treats its people poorly.The wealthy
don't care about the fact that illiteracy and poverty seem to go hand in hand.They don't want to see or think about the poor so they encourage their poor to go to the USA illegally and send money back to their family's.What they need to do is help their own people.Help them to feed and house and educate themselves.That's what will help poverty all over the world,not a hand out but a hand up to freedom from poverty.We here in America must take care of our own legal people first ,last and always.

No allowing mass immigration to the United States is not going to solve world poverty.
But I am with the Black Gunman on this-Population control would be the solution to abject poverty.
If you can't afford to feed it, you don't need to have it.
That is not to say that poor people don't deserve to have families- but American taxpayers certainly don't need to be susidizing their families with welfare if they are incapable of carrying the financial burden of the life they willfully created.
Not everyone is ever going to be rich or even middle class- but they don't need to be starving either.

I think it will just spread world poverty by requiring workers in countries with a living wage to compete with workers in countries with a sub-poverty wage. The rich gets richer, the poor poorer and more numerous, and the rich stops wanting to pay for education of the poor. Then upwards mobility and the middle class disappear.

A bad thing, if you ask me.

Actions speak louder then words and at this point it seems like all those conspiracy theorist were right about the free masons and them trying to create a one world government. The only way to do so is to destroy America first. The biggest obstacle in their task. I think we are letting them get away with it Scott free. nope. I think people deciding to dig in, right where they're at, and MAKE things better, is the answer to individual poverty, and if enough people do that, well there's your answer to world poverty, too...

then they can begin to build up the continent of africa to make it more comfortable to habitate
