They make pet wipes that the pet store sells....if in doubt about the baby wipes....just use a soft, damp, cloth, that has been rinsed out in luke warm water to clean your kitten's bottom....but really cats clean their own areas with their tongue and the area is sensitive...so you really need to be GENTLE or it will hurt the poor little thing....

I use baby wipes - the alcohol free one.
A few months ago, I got a 10 week old kitten (she's about 4.5 months now). When I got her, she was sick and had diarrhea. Her diarrhea was so bad that I had to wipe her butt every half an hour. Not fun! It was recommended to me by other cat owners that alcohol free baby wipes are fine so that was what I used for the two days she had the runs.
She's all better now but I still give her butt a wipe now and again every few days. I also trim the fur around her butt and down her legs since she's still rather clumsy at potty duties and occasionally kitty litter stuck to her.

A healthy animal should not have a messy bottom. Nature made animals to be able to potty and not need to wipe. Although at times because of a cats digestive system they will potty rather nasty and be alittle messy but will lick it off. By you wiping its bottom , she isnt learning to tend to her grooming. Personally instead of wiping the kittens bottom I would just call attention to it being messy and get her to groom herself and get it cleaned up back there. I know it seems nasty for her to have to lick her butt but thats what nature intended for them to do. Cats also have two little glands right next to the opening that sometimes get clogged up and look like two black dots on each side of the opening which makes their bottoms look as if they were dirty. . One of my cats had that problem and the vet had to squeeze its little butt and black stuff came out like two giant black heads and then runny stuff and stunk like crazy. Maybe your kitten is having the same problem.

employing the toddler wipes one time shouldn't reason any problems on your kitten. inspite of the undeniable fact that somewhat some the chemical compounds in those wipes could desire to doubtlessly reason some inflammation if used, a hypoallergenic, mushy formulated wipe could desire to be seen. i've got self assurance the final way is to apply a delicate, lint-loose fabric this is gently soaked in luke heat water. i will understand the motherly interest you prefer to grant yet cat's tongue's are tough and that they wiped sparkling the butts of their offspring many times throughout the time of that time. you additionally can prefer to double verify inclusive of your generally happening vet besides. good success :-)

I am sure those manufacters have "animal tested" those wipes. Otherwise they would be open to lawsuits if babies were harmed by putting them in their mouths or getting any of the cleaner on their fingers.
If your kitten were cleaning herself you wouldn't need them. Trimming her bottom up to remove some hair would be a good idea.

i dont see why a baby wipe wouldnt work. there's not many chemicals on it-its for a baby.those wipies can be used for all kinds of things.give it a try. worse case;wipe it with the wipe and then to get off the wipie residue use the cloth. good luck

hmm I don't think that the chemicals could do harm to your kitten first I'm sure he's licked worst i.e. litter (pregnant women can't even clean a litter that is how bad it is) ;o) and then I've seen babies with wipes in their mouth and they are still breathing... good luck :-)

I say use the tissue. You wouldn't want your kitten to get sick or anything worst.
