We are catholic, and at the service there was a Deacon, a Priest, and a "Brother". What is the difference between these 3 people?

Deacon, not a priest. They can marry, and never become a priest. All priests were deacons, but not all deacons can become priests. It's like step one.

Priest, ordained under the service of God. He has finished his schooling and been called, ordained in a beautiful ceremony by the bishop.

Brother, often known as a monk. This is like a priest, but they don't preach. Instead, they live together in a community under the word of God. Think of them as male nuns.

Sorry to hear about your Grandmother.

mple of how tradition took over the truth of the Bible. The only use of the term "brother" in the Bible in reference to the church includes all believers, not just a few chosen ones.
