Why Hard?
Spend time and it becomes easy....with any translation.
Like any relationship it takes time to understand a person.

lol King James closest to God's Word? i am a greek/hebrew student and most translations are alot closer than King James. New American Standard is the closest that is mainstreamed. But King James is way off in alot of ways, especially look at times where it refers to gender or baptisms. The Message is a paraphrase, but still not incredibly far off. KJV is the only really difficult to understand translation, but it still depends on the book of the bible you are reading as well.

I glaze over when I read the KJV...in that sense I'm no further ahead even if it is more accurate.
The idea that the King James is closest to God's word is an old idea. It probably was when it was first translated, but much hard work in translation has been done since then. Try the New International Version or New American Standard Bible if you are concerned with accuracy but want an easier read.

I have the same?,how do we actually know King James version is The real Bible.Just because he said or she said, the truth is probably hidden.Kings and Queens versions of this and that are not always accurate.Look at history. The only thing that I believe is God wrote the commandments, and men wrote the Bible and if anyone thinks we are always right just look around how this world is.Corrupt, disgust!

First understand that the KJV was written approx. 1200 years after the first collection of Old and New Testament scriptures were done by Constantine, who was Greek. Also, remember that Father God is powerful enough to protect His Word, so find a translation you can understand and don't forget James said "that if any need wisdom, let him ask of God".The Holy Spirit will guide you and your spirit will be secure.

The bible was created by the roman empire to change the message of Jesus to something that the Romans found more acceptable.
This is why it is difficult to understand. The message of Jesus on the other hand is elegant and simple to understand. You need to separate the message that Jesus left for us from all of the nonsense that the Romans overlaid it with and it will start to become quite easy to understand.
Don't take my word for any of this. Study biblical history for your self and draw your own conclusions. There are many good books on this subject be some intelligent and thoughtful people. Take advantage of their efforts.
Email if you are interested and I will send so suggested reading material.
Love and blessings.

Well.........have you read the whole thing? the Bible is like a puzzle and you need all the pieces. you can't just read one book and expect to understand it. I mean the basic thread of the Bible starts with the promise to Abraham that he would bless his posterity and give them Canaan.the promised land The books exodus through Joshua cover that. then there are the prophesies of the Messiah. that's your basic old testament. the new new testament focuses on the Messiahs birth, life, death, Resurrection, mission and the christian church. Plus we will never understand it all. plus its been researched by many scientists, archeological digs etc. And there has never been a 'contradiction' that hasnt been proven to be not a contradiction at all.

If the KJV was written in Aramaic Greek and Hebrew......
The bible is hard to understand. I couldn't. I tried reading it and went crosseye and fast asleep in minutes. It was not until I truly wanted to know God and took steps in faith to do it. Go to a church fellowship. Go to a home fellowship. Then, the words seem to leap out at me....Hey, I went thru that last week! Ask for understanding before you read, each time. And don't give up

The Bible is hard to understand because we try to read it ourselves without the help of the Holy Spirit. Ask Him to help you understand. A good commentary helps also. Start with the gospels and then Acts. After you understand these, then go on to the rest. Ask a Christian friend to help you understand.

It's sometimes hard to understand because language has changed since then. Shakespeare is hard to read because no one uses old English anymore. they understood him in that time, but we have trouble now. The same with the Bible. also maybe because it's been translated. although if you take your time it's not too hard to figure out.
