I write many techical documents and sometimes need a smaller font than 8 point. I have not been able to find a method of achieving this and would appreciate direction (if possible)

You can enter any size you want (between 1 and 1638) in the font size box.

Highlight the text you want to change. Go to the box at the top that indicates font size. Highlight and erase the size that's there. Type the number of the font size you want and hit "enter."

instead of selecting your font size from the pulldown menu, highlight the fontsize and simply type in 6 or 4 or whatever size you want to use. I hope that makes sense, if I need to explain it another way, just let me know.

word pad will go lower by just typing in the font number (instead of using the drop down)then hitting tab. So i'm sure word will do the same. (if not just cut/paste into wordpad, select the text and do that)
