Firstly, do a reality check. How old are you? How old is your lover? Do you think that your parents think you both are too young to get into some serious relationship? If these clear, then lets go to round two. Have you both got stable jobs where you can sustain each other? That can be a big plus when it comes to girls' parents. If all these criteria match, then, ask your lover to be persistent. Ask her to lay out your strong points and how you can keep her happy and how you can take good care of her. most parents would want all that. Let her stress the fact that she will be happy with you and not give up. If you have convinced your parents, then you could ask both your and her parents to meet up. usually, girls' parents would want some kind of assurance and if your parents can talk to them, they will know that it is official and that you are serious. Patience pays in most of the cases. just see that you both don't succumb to the pressures, especially the girl. be firm and strong in placing your case in from of parents and everything will go ok.

While it may make things difficult, you cannot easily change their minds. Do not let their objections stop your wedding. They may have their issues, but they are not going to be a part of your marriage.

A friend of mine was dating a girl that is sloppy and does not really care about much. His parents had a terrible time with her. They did not want him to date her and certainly not marry her. I had dinner at their house without my friend and his girlfriend and I told them to get used to her because she is going to be their daughter-in-law. They were a bit upset at first, but my friend and that girl are not only married, but they have three children.

What you can do is to understand what they are opposed to. Is it the age of your lover for marriage? Is it something about you? Is it how you act towards them? There are many possibilities.

Once you understand what they object to, you can see if there is any chance of showing them that they have nothing to worry about. Otherwise, just be yourself and live your life with your lover.

Take care,
Troy

How old are you?

You should check your spelling before you post by the way.

Parents need time and they need to get to know a prospective daughter/son in law. They'll need to know that you are genuinly in love that you understand how serious marrige is. They'll need to be reassured that you have 100% good intentions for the happiness or their child.

If you are not willing to wait to get married then they will see that you are not serious. If you are serious, what's the rush?
