Take an express boat, start from Taksin Bridge Sky Train Terminal (BTS.. Taksin Station) then run along the Chaopraya River... Get off wherever U want such as Grand Palace..
Then jump back to the both heading to Nontaburi Province, continue wth a long tail boat tour... go to Kor Gred (if there is no more flooding)
Late afternoon U can return by the express boat to BTS Terminal Station once again... Quite Nice for a day and not expensive.

Go to a travel agency in Bangkok, travel agencies are everywhere here, they have sightseeing trips and lots of more tours. Don't take a tuk-tuk, he will take you half of the time sightseeing and the other half he will take you to his friends shops, they get commission for bringing foreigners.

I'm sorry I can't but I encourage you to use the Sky Train if it goes where you want - very inexpensive clean & modern El/subway.
Any hotel will have tons of stuff for you to look at; don't worry.

unfrotunatley i cant answer ur Question, but i hate bangkok i stayed there 2 nights, n its terrible! its a dirty city, full of theifs, taxi's cheat ppl !! the hotel u check in will give u loadz of leaflets, dont worry abt it !!
