No, and that would be extremely cruel. Put citrous fruit where it goes (e.g. orange peel).

No!
Cats urinate in the house for a number of reasons.
It could be that you own an unneutered Tom cat and he is marking his territory
or the cat has a urinary problem, like cystitis, making him or her urinate frequently
or the cat might be incontinent.
If you think any of these apply see your Vet for advice or treatment for your cat.
Cats also urinate indoors when they are stressed and the cause of the stress can be difficult to find. It could be :-
a new pet coming into the house
another animal visiting the house
a new or different person visiting or staying in the house
bullying by another cat, either in the neighbourhood or the house
another cat scent-marking in your garden or near your door/cat-flap.
Even changing the furniture round can upset some cats!
You need to think about 'why' the cat is doing this.
The cat will keep marking the same places if you don't eliminate the smell.
Use a deodoriser, especially for removing the smell of urine, on all the places you think the cat has marked. You can get a proper deodoriser from your vet or good pet stores. Don't use ordinary household stuff as they usually have ammonia in them which enhances the smell of urine to a cat or dog.
The chili will not in any way teach the cat that urinating in the house is not right. All it will do is confuse the cat's scent abilities for a short time and distress your cat.
You really need to be looking for cause and cure instead of punitive measures.
Hope this has helped.

How can you think that rubbing chile on your cats nose will help?Try cleaning up the pee with a specially designed spray to get rid of the smell and then use a litter tray. He's probably urinating in the house because it smells so like him.

no you bloody idiot it will not - it will more than likely distress the poor thing so much he will do it even more, how awful that you should even think of doing that. you should try some other other remedies which other posters ahve mentioned - citrus round the area, tin foil also works, they hate standing on it - you need to clean the area throughly since it now smells like a toilet and you need to UNDERSTAND your poor cat and fine out why he/she is doing this - cats are clean by nature and do not do things like that unless they have an issue with something, have you moved house? have you drastically changed something in the house? can other cats get in the house, is it poorly, when cats have Cystitus they often wee in the house since its so painful and doing it outside attracts attention from other cats, if she is inside all the time are you emptying the litter tray enough - cats hate smelly trays, are you using a NONE smelling litter - just because we want to mask the smell with perfumed litter - the cats hate it. have you put her litter tray somewhere safe, quiet and private - cats don't like doing their business infront of others. If its a male is he castrated (if your a responsible owner and not a breeder her should be!) if he is not castrated he sprays to mark his scent. There are lots of reasons as to why cats soil in the house, if you love your cat you will try to understand and help it rather than rubbing chillies in its face - thats cruel.

No. Don't try it either, not with Chilli or any other pungent substance. My cat accidentally got a cup of mouthwash on her nose after sniffing it a little too closely and her eyes watered so bad I was terrified that she's blind herself. I grabbed her scruff and washed her nose immediately and luckily the tears subsided and she was okay. That was a very scary moment! Needless to say she kept her distance from the mouthwash after that...

Don't be stupid! Stop it peeing by catching it in the act, rubbing its nose in it, raising your voice and then putting it outside. DON'T be rough or violent and make sure when the cat comes back in you give it plenty of attention.

Should the cat deduce from your actions that you are a looney, it will move out and find a better home. In that sense, yes it will stop him.
However as the cat is peeing in the house to try and evict you it is unlikely that rubbing chilli on him will make a difference but rather he will increase his efforts.
Bad move!

No, but the use of Cayenne pepper in the areas where kitty is peeing will work.
If kitty is over 6 months old he/she may need spayed/neutered. When cats make the 6 month period they begin marking their territory by urinating.

That would just be cruelty; Either you give the cat access to the outside, or you provide a litter tray, or you don't keep a cat.

No, but it may mean the urine smell has penetrated the carpet and that is a monster to get out, for it givees the cat a marker to go there
