should i use aftershave and why?

It hurts, yes, but that's because of the antisceptic. When people shave they've scraped their skin, and there could be bleeding or not, but the aftershave kills any germs that might wish to invade your face, while making you smell nice for the ladies. Get one with a smell you can tolerate.
