Wash often with a good shampoo and conditioner - and don't cut it so often. Just a regular trim.

regular trims-like going tot he hair dresser every 6-8 weeks means no split ends and softer hair! that way when it grows long it's not brittle and frizzy! try using an intensive conditioner masque once a week to keep hair silky soft i use dove intensive care tony & guy is also good and then use a decent shampoo/conditioner the rest of the time -trick is not to wash every day if you can help it as strips hair and can leave it flat and static!

Soft hair needs conditioner. Paul Mitchell does a good one but I am afraid that I cannot tell you how to get the long hair if you don't already have it. Maybe hair extensions. I do not know anything about them or how you go about getting them.

For dry hair pls try these hot oil massages....they will help in maintaing the natural sheen of your hair and will also condition your hair:

Hot oil massages: Warm 2 tsp. of olive oil and 2 tsp. coconut oil and gently massage every part of the scalp for 10-15 minutes. Rinse a towel in hot water, wipe and wind the hair around the head as it cools. Repeat 2 or 3 times to issue total saturation. After that, shampoo and rinse well. It is good for brittle dry hair.

Hot Caster oil massage: Warm ½ cup of castor oil, massage into scalp and gently comb it. Bind the hair with hot towel on the head, wait for 30 minutes. Shampoo and rinse. As it is home made is so good to use for scanty hair.

Clove oil honey massage. Stir well ½ cup of green olive oil with 1 cup of liquid honey. Shake vigorously. Keep the mixture to settle for a day or two. Massage into the scalp and comb it not touching the scalp. After massaging cover hair with plastic shower cap. Make it air tight to let the heat penetrate, leave like that for 20 to 30 minutes. Then shampoo and rinse well. It is good for dark hair to keep it shining and lustrous.

Take care

Put olive oil, or coconut oil in your hair every once or twice a week. Make sure you massage it into your scalp and leave it in overnight. Put a towel over your pillow so it may not get oily. get a trim so you may not have any split ends and see your hair grow in no time.

General rule of thumb. Hair grows more in the summer time rather than the winter months.

Usually, that's too long for me. I believe it depends on the guy and also his face though. Certain guys can easily pull off long hair and other people can't.
