Why are yellow beans so hard to find, and much more expensive than green beans?

I like yellow beans, but I often have to compromise and just get green beans.

I don't know the precise reason either but I prefer the yellow (wax) beans, also called "butter beans",to regular green string beans as I think they have a much nicer flavor and worth the extra price too.
