Depends on how much this person is overweight. Of course personality counts for alot, but when you have no physical attraction it can't really work out. Relation ships are based on 50% personality/mentality/good heart... 50% on physical attraction... There's more to the physical point of view then the weight of the person, it probably would depend of other features. But if someone is overweight to a point where they can't do certain activities, yes it is a turn off. And there's a difrence between being curvy, chubby, overweight, fat and obese. It also depends if this person is physicaly proportional to the rest, there are many factors which it might depend on.

"overweight" means a lot of things to a lot of people. If you had asked your question is a person 200 pounds overweight a turnoff I'd probably say yes. These days everyone seems to be overweight except models and wanabe models and wanabe stars and people who want to get married. Few others are in shape or America wouldn't be wanting to curtail the oil in fries.

See first of all...
Its all about a person's own view.
It varies from person to person
If you ask me, then off course not.
What matters for lifetime is not that person's physique,
but his nature.
And its always possible for anyone to put on weight as well as loose some weight at any point of time. You may find handsome guy in the starting who may become obese after some years. Then are u going to leave him at that point in your life?
Off course not.
What really matters for lifetime is a person's Love, Understanding and Maturity.
So for me obesity is not a big deal.

Unfortunately, we are still creatures of the animal kingdom.
We have the abiliy to reason, yes, but we are also creatures of habit, intuition, and instinct.
Even with a great heart and personality, we - as animals - will always be attracted by sight and sound of others.
Obese people simply have it hard, God bless them.
And I know it's not fair...
I myself have been a victim of racism, but I dare not blame society... As Forrest Gump once said, people simply do things that --- well --- don't make any sense...

physicall attraction is one thing that most people will recognise chemically in the first place, so if u said a turn-off, could be.
Only if a person have known u then physicall can jump to the 'dump'. Just be yourself, learning more n more, let u reserve urself to the best. people will see that. and that's most important.

An overweight person is not a turn off especially if the have a good personality. Most guys like bigger girls, as opposed to skinny girls.

I am married and my husband is overweight. I love him to death and we are very happy. It's a matter of heart and personality as you said.

No. Weight should not determine what's in the person's heart or personality at all. If the person feels comfotable with themself they need to find someone, or a crowd to hand out with that likes them. If another person cannot accept you for who you are, then it's best to move on and find someone more comfotable with who you are. NEVER allow yourself to stay with someone who always puts you down and makes you feel bad inside.
