Good things: depends on which airline you join. If you don't mind orange you can join EasyJet. Their package is good - lots of holidays, pension and salary in general. Now, I don't know if you are attracted to the position because of the thought of staying in exotic destinations or not, but if you join EasyJet, you come home every night - their destinations are short haul only, so not too exciting.
A good company to join is Virgin Atlantic, you get to stay up to 7 days abroad. Try Excel Airways, but the pay is not all that good, same with MyTravel. Try Monarch Airlines. Would recommend Thomas Cook or ThomsonFly (formerly Britannia).
The bad things: people often just look at the potential glamour in the job - nice uniform, make up, exotic places, but this job comes with a lot of $hit too: the passengers are a$$holes and moan about EVERYTHING you can possibly imagine - and of course, it is all your fault. Also there is this stigma about people in the airline industry, especially the 'trolley dolleys' that we are all thick and blond. Don't let this put you off, the girls (and boys) give as good as they get!
Now the hours - this is so bloody tiring, just as you land and get back to your car, drive home and put that head on the pillow, it is time to scrub up, do your make up and off you go again on a loooong day. And through all that tiredness you still have to tolerate $hitty passengers.
Bear in mind that the airline industry means you will meet people from all walks of life - dirty, smelly, nice, nasty, pervy - the list is not exhaustive.

The best thing is the free flying miles the worst thing would have to be belligerent passengers and the occasional turbulence that has killed a few flight attendants as well as passengers when the plane flies thru air pockets in the sky, violent turbulence can cause your entire body to actually come off the floor of the cabin hit the cabin ceiling with great amounts of force than violently slam you too the cabin's floor in split second with no time to react! plus the occasional accidents midair collisions engine failure there's at least 8 documented times of a passenger jumbo jet s control problems that caused planes to actually do loops, which i can't even imagine what that must've been like.

For starters, we don't clean toilets, or bathrooms, or anything. There is an employee work group called "groomers" that do this job.

We don't stay in five star hotels, either. Jeeze, where do you people get your info?

It is a great job, and always interesting. The pay is almost half of what it used to be. I would have to say that this is the worst thing about the job. After 10 years at a major international carrier, I'm still not making now what I did 5 years ago.

The best is definitetly the life experience and the people you meet.

in brief the best things are - the money (pretty good) the time off (irregular, but generally lots of it) and the good fun (its nearly always a good laugh, with loads of mickey taking of the passengers and in-jokes) Bad stuff - getting up at 4am (never funny) working on Saturday nights/xmas day/new years eve/etc when all your mates are out having fun. risk losing long term partner, or never getting one (its a very insular world and you tend to socialise with other crew and its quite hard to date a 'civilian' due to not being awake at the same time as your beau!)
Best companies are the scheduled carriers eg BA, Virgin etc, but not if you want to fly from a regional airport, then the choice narrows to who's recruiting and its usually march to october only on charter - so be prepared for winter work asa perfume sniper at you local department store!

The worst? Cleaning up the toilets...cleaning vomit...cleaning mess babies make???? Having dirty old men trying to put their hand on you. Getting up and going to bed at odd hours.
the best...staying at 5 star hotels...doing shopping all over the network. Good pay...Extra flying money...Having nice men flirting and dating you. Free airline tickets from other airlines also and cheaper hotel accommodation when not flying!!!

Best airlines....the major airlines of course. Singapore Airlines and Swiss air are good. BA has a lot of gays!!! (will I get a violation notice for this....I seem to get them for saying innocent things lol) Depends where you want tl be stationed and whether youhave a passport for the carriers country.
