Fees vary greatly. Tuition at a community college might be as low as $6,000 per year. Tuition at Harvard University might be over $40,000 per year. Room and board at colleges vary a lot as well.
The cost of books and supplies vary, depending on one's major. Some math books are used for four courses in a row. Some literature courses might have a reading list of 5 books for a semester. Figure a minimum of $1,000 per year.

It depends really. I studied for a while in Oakland California on a scholarship, the College was a private one so it was very expensive, and if I was paying for my tuition it would have cost up to $30,000 for the year!
College books in America are also expensive, an accounting book (not much bigger than the business books here) cost me $130-second hand.
Accomodation was fairly reasonable - about £1800 for the year -and meals could be added in.
As for everything else it depends where you go, cost of living changes drastically in America from place to place (e.g. a 3 person meal in TGI Fridays in New York cost us $103, but the same food in the same chain in Tennesse cost only $37)
