You're obviously bigger, but it's not your size; it's the food. Biscuits do seem to have gotten larger since I was young, 50 years ago; but chocolate bars are definitely smaller today. With automobiles they call it downsizing for fuel economy. With chocolate candy, it's downsizing for profits. A Hersey bar with almonds in 1952 was likely a good ounce more than today's anemic candy bar, it was a hefty chunk of chocolate compared to 2006. And I ate a lot of them.

Nah they are defo smaller, anyone noticed the old Wham bars and Highland toffee seemed to be even smaller now?? its wrong really, I remember when i was small they seemed to last forever lol. And touching on sweets, I used to love those MOJO'S, use to get 2 for a penny, and you always used to see if you could get as many in your mouth as possible and try and talk, well funny.
Oh i want to be young again :-)

You are right! When I was a kid, Wagon Wheels were almost the size of a tea plate - and were good value for money. Now you can almost finish off a Wagon Wheel with one bite.
I believe the manufacturers reduce the size of the product to cover up what is no more than a price rise - which of course they hope many will not notice.

Probably both. They are smaller apart from the king size bars which tend to be in two halves marketed for sharing (fat chance). Prices seem to have risen steeply over the last 20 years.

it's a marketing ploy. they are smaller.. but when people complain, they get a bit bigger but more expensive... but people complain about the price... so it turns into a game... what balance can we make... to make it small enough but expensive enough.. and make the people not notice and complain and still make a huge profit. I've seen everything get smaller OR more expensive or/and both. Personally, I tried to eat in moderation and live with the saying of 'that's life', greed exists.

They are smaller. In fact there used to be a gauge used by the financial world known as the "Mars bar index",it was used as a reliable gauge of inflation. It had to be dicontinued because the size of Mars bars was reduced so the constant was no longer accurate.
